What

This word
Supermoon came into existence in the year 1979 by Richard Nolle as either a new
or full moon. This occurs when the moon is very near or closest to the earth in
its orbit.
The term
blue moon can be referred to two meanings. The first one is about seasonal blue
moon. In a season, it is a third full moon with four full moons. The second one
is the one which is what we say as monthly blue moon. The blue moon in August
2023 which we are going to experience out is the monthly blue moon. This means
that there are two full moons to view in the month of August that appeared on
1st Aug and now on 30th Aug.
To
understand more, monthly blue moon occurs every two and half years period. We
are all very lucky that the blue moon phenomenon is going to occur on 31
August, 2023. You will be amazed to know that it is a supermoon which is the
biggest and brightest full moon of the year 2023. The date and time of the blue
moon will be on 31st August 2023 at 01:35 GMT (7:05 am IST or 30th August,

How
does blue moon occur?
This supermoon
event takes place when the full moon's orbit brings it in the proximity to the
earth. It is known as perigree. The distance of the moon at perigree is about

farthest point from the earth, it is known as apogee. The distance is about
4,05,500 km away all due to the elliptical orbit. The natural satellite appears
giant and radiant than the averaged sized moon during this period.
The
frequency of Supermoon appearance is about 3 to 4 times in a year. The 2023
